How to Use the Specification for Polished Concrete to Win Your Next Project
Hosted by World of Concrete 360 and ASCC Concrete Polishing Council.
In late 2020, ACI-ASCC Committee 310 published 310.1-20: Specification for Polished Concrete Slab Finishes, a compilation of best practices used by polished concrete contractors. Architects and engineers have been encouraged to cite this reference specification in their contract documents.
In this interactive industry open forum, attendees will hear from experts who helped draft the article as well as from contractors who have completed projects on which they followed the best practices outlined in this specification. Real-life experiences from projects will be shared with focus on how polished concrete contractors can benefit by adopting specification best practices such as polisher certification, pre-construction conferences, mock-ups, testing, and quality assurance acceptance.
Panel discussions will address
- how the contractor can help guide the specifier towards the finished look clients desire while managing expectations
- how to avoid contradictions that can arise when the specification is included in contract documents
- how to stay in control of project results by paying attention to QC tests, material selection, polishing procedures, and protection requirements per the contract
- how to profit by advising customers with this industry developed specification
